Our wax is the consistency of soft margerine in a tub so it is easy to apply, is completely colourless and has very little odour. It is water repellent so can be used on dining room tables and kitchens. Wipe clean regularly with a damp cloth although for tough marks use a proprietry spray cleaner and rewax. We recommend applying the paint, waxing it and then sanding it for the best results. You can colour the wax with a little of our paint to make a white wax.

To age and give texture to your paintwork apply the clear wax first then apply apply the dark wax. Wipe off the excess then use the clear wax to take more off if you need to, but leave the dark wax in the recesses.
You can colour the dark wax to make it less brown by using a little of our paint in the wax. Use Old White to make white wax or a bit of Aubusson to make the wax almost black

Use the leaf with hands lightly dusted with talcum powder and stick the leaf on to a surface coated with Gold Size. Aluminium does not tarnish so there is no need to apply clear wax but to make it look like silver a light coat of dark wax gives it a look of vintage silver

This is leaf very lightly adhered to a tissue making it possible to pick up and apply the leaf easily with the tissue uppermost. It is useful for applying to a large area particulary on a wall or large piece of furniture. It is applied in the same way using gold size.

Size is an old English word for glue. Gold Size is the glue used for applying bronze powders and metal leaf to surfaces.
This particular size is water based and has the advantage of staying sticky when dry.

Paint it on thinly, allow 5 minutes to dry. When dry it becomes clear and then is the time to apply either bronze powders or metal leaf. Any unused areas may be waxed, varnished or washed, making them no longer sticky.

This is a water based fast drying glue and varnish. It builds up layers very quickly making it suitable for découpage. It is extra thick and easy to apply but should be applied thinly. With a paper such as gift wrap, about 6 layers are needed to give a smooth finish. The finish is matt. 250ml pots NO LONGER AVAILABLE
